Actress Amisha Patel, who began her innings in Bollywood with two hit films in a row, is reported to be headed south to act in a Telugu film.
Reports have it that the actress, who came to notice with her successful debut alongside Hrithik in Kaho Na Pyar Hai, has been signed to play the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu in his film which is titled ‘New’.
Produced by Mahesh's award-winning sister Manjula, ‘New’ has young director Surya wielding the megaphone. It may be mentioned that Surya himself is acting in the Tamil version of the film with svelte Simran.
‘New’ is believed to be a Telugu rehash of the Hollywood potboiler ‘Big’ that starred Tom Hanks in the leading role.
