SCOOP!! & NEWS Mohanlal: Mulling a makeover08th Jan 2005 17.00 IST By P. Sreekumaran When in doubt, play the trump. Well, that is precisely what Malayalam Megastar Mohanlal is doing in the New Year. Well, the versatile actor has ample reasons for wanting to flash the ace. Year 2004 has not been an unmixed blessing for him.
Mohanlal, who has completed 25 years on the reel, figured in five films in the year that has passed into history: Vamanapuram Bus Route, Vismayathumbathu, ‘Wanted’, Natturajavu and Mambazhakkalam . Of this, only Natturajavu and Mambazhakkalam did well at the box office. The other three movies sank, much to the chagrin of the man with the Midas touch. Concerned over the lean patch, Mohanlal is now on the lookout for a script and a role replete with punchy dialogue and action larger-than-life roles that rocketed him to superstar status. And in his time of need, the star has turned to his trusted aide, Antony Perumbavoor. The duo are beavering away to hit upon a winning formula. Meanwhile, reports have it that Mohanlal, who was planning to do a film entitled Zacharia Pothen Jeevichiripundu, has scrapped it.
