That is the lot which has befallen Kerala-born actress Asin . The Kochi girl made her none-too-sensational filmy debut in a Sathyan Anthikad movie years ago, but lady luck refused to smile on her instantly. In desperation, Asin migrated to Tollywood and made it big there after years of struggle.
The Tollywood success put her firmly on the path to glory. In no time, alluring Asin, now in the ascendant, attracted attention in Kollywood too. Right now, she figures in four big budget films. She is the heroine in the Tamil remake of Malayalam blockbuster Thommante Makkal The film titled ‘Maja’ has national award winner Vikram in the male lead. She has snapped up another plum project, ‘Godfather’, in which she co-stars Ajit. SJ Surya’s upcoming movie, ‘Gajini’ also features Asin in the lead role. The current No. 3 in Kollywood, Vijay has Asin as his female interest in ‘Sivakasi’. Besides, the just-released ‘Ullam Ketkume’ is doing well at the box office. The Jeeva-directed project has, apart from Asin, Shyam playing the hero. No wonder, fast-rising Nayanthara and reigning queen of Tollywood Trisha feel threatened by the Mallu girl.
