The New Year is turning out to be really good for Malayalam actress Navya Nair .
The talented Ms Nair, who made her presence felt with Malayalam film, ‘Nandanam’, has hopped over to Kannada cinema.
The buzz is that Navs has just been signed up for doing the Kannada remake of the Tamil superhit ‘Pithamagan’. Navya will do the role Laila did in the Tamil film.
In the Kannada version, superstar Upendra will play the male lead. The filming of the project will start shortly, according to the news from Kannada filmdom.
Meanwhile, Navya is consolidating her gains in Tamil cinema. After ‘Chidambarathil Appasamy’, Navya has become one of the favourite heroines of Tamil producers and directors.
Right now, Navya is doing ‘Maya Kannadi’ in Tamil. She has also been snapped to pair with Cheran for ‘Pokkisham’. Cheran in fact replaced Meera Jasmine with Navya.
Then, Navya also figures in the lead role in the TV Chandran-directed ‘Aadum Koothu’. Here again, TV Chandran first roped in Meera for the role. Then, for inexplicable reasons, Meera found herself out of it, and in came Navya.
