Konkona Sen to work with Mammootty?

Titled ‘Shikari’, the movie would also be Mammootty’s first in Kannada cinema. So far he has worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and even Hindi films.

Director Abhay Simha, whose directorial debut ‘Gubbachchigalu’ got a lot of critical acclaim, has approached Konkona to play the female lead. The actress is said to have shown interest in the script but she hasn’t agreed to the project yet because of her busy dates.


In fact, it was the script of ‘Shikari’ that won over Mammootty as well. The film is about the systematic exploitation of nature and environment.

Abhay Simha got in touch with Mammootty through one of his colleagues from FTII Pune. He then e-mailed the script to the superstar whose secretary called Simha back after a few days. Simha then met Mammootty in person and the project was on.

‘Shikari’ is being produced by Mangalore-based industrialist N.R. Shetty.

Having gotten Mammootty’s nod, director Abhay Simha hopes Konkona, too, would agree to do the movie.
