Sreekumaran The lingering doubts are over; so is the agonising uncertainty. Malayalam actress Meera Jasmine has staged a spectacular comeback in Mollywood. You want to know how? Well, the news flash from Mollywood is that the talented actress has just been signed up for a film with megastar Mohanlal . This is the first time that Meera is acting with any of the superstars. 
Sathyan Anthikkad-directed "Achuvinte Amma" was the last Malayalam movie that Meera did. More than a year has passed since. The prolonged absence from Mollywood had fuelled speculation that Meera has said good-bye to Malayalam cinema. In between, two of her films in Telugu were dubbed into Malayalam. She also figured in the Tamil remake of Malayalam film ‘Kasthuriman’. Jasmine had played the heroine in the Malayalam version too. The film was directed by Lohitdas who wielded the megaphone for the Malayalam original. Interestingly, the new film featuring Meera, will again be directed by Sathyan Anthikkad, who is said to be highly impressed by her performance in ‘Achuvinte Amma’. Incidentally, Mohanlal and Sathyan, who have given some memorable hits, are also teaming up after a long gap of ten years. So, in a way, it is a comeback of sorts for Ms Jasmine, who won the national award for best actress for her sensitive portrayal of a Muslim girl's plight in TV Chandran's "Padam Onnu Oru Vilapam". Whatever it be, it is a gain for the Malayalam cinema.
