There is no denying it. There is something that attracts actors from other States to the Kannada film world.
None else than the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan , himself was 'floored' by the allure of Kannada cinema.
The Big B did a classy cameo in a Kannada movie called ‘Amruthadare’. And thanks to the Bachchan charm, the film is running to packed houses!
The latest to be bitten by the Kannada cinema bug is the top model-turned-actor Dino Morea .
The Bollywood boy is slated to figure in the Kannada remake of Hindi film Julie , which itself was a remake of the Malayalam original "Chattakkari". Incidentally, Dino, who is making his maiden appearance in Kannada films, was born in Bangalore.
Dino's heroine in the movie will be Ramya , who played the female lead in ‘Amrurthadare’ too. There are said to be some hot scenes in the Kannada version of Julie (the theme demands it, says the buzz!), which will be directed by Poornima Mohan.
Among others who have come graced the Kannada silver screen are Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan , who has just completed a film in that language titled "Rama, Bhama Shama".
Even the redoubtable Rajnikant is a big hit in Kannada. After all Rajni is a son of the soil. Rajnikant alias Shivajirao Gaekwad was born in Karnataka.
So, the buzzword among actors these days seem to be: Kannada Chalo!
