Sreekumaran The magical run of Mammootty continues unabated. The Malayalam megastar has scaled new peaks of popularity in the wake of the super success of Rajamanickyam . The film has already become the biggest hit of Malayalam cinema by grossing a mid-boggling Rs 42 crore from 41 centres in four weeks!! Now that is something no other Malayalam film has achieved so far. 
The phenomenal popularity of ‘Rajamanickyam’ has encouraged its producer to plan a sequel. 'Rajamanickyam Two' will boast of the same team that scripted the success of the first version: Mammootty will be the hero, Anwar Rashid the director and TA Rashid the scriptwriter. Shooting of the film, which will be produced by Valiyaveetil Siraj, will commence next year, according to the buzz from Mollywood. The sequel will, so goes the news, deal with the post-marriage life of ‘Rajamanickyam’ who ties the nuptial knot with his girlfriend, Malli, played by Padmapriya . Meanwhile, ‘Rajamanickyam’ is being remade in Tamil. In the Tamil version, Sharat Kumar will play the lead role essayed by Mammootty in the Malayalam original. It can be said, without any fear of contradiction that, right now, Mammootty is the monarch of all that he surveys in Malayalam cinema, a fact that even his reel rival Mohanlal may grudgingly admit!!
