He has just won Kerala government's best actor award. The icing on the cake has come after his latest film ‘Thanmatra’ bagged as many as five awards. 
The award is for Mohanlal's sensitive portrayal of the anguish of a government employee who is struck by the dreaded Alzheimer's disease. Its director Blessy won the best director award while ‘Tanmatra’ was adjudged the best film. Malayalam actress Navya Nair is the best actress for her performances in ‘Saira’ and ‘Kanne Madanguna’. ‘Achan Urangatha Veedu’ directed by Lal Jose was adjudged the best second film and Salim Kumar the second best actor for his moving performance in the film. Santosh Sivan's maiden Malayalam film, ‘Ananthabhadram’ bagged five awards including that of best cinematographer for the director. Other awards the film won are for music direction (M.G. Radhakrishnan), editing (Sreekar Prasad), art direction (Sunil Babu) and make-up (Pattanam Rasheed). Well done, Mohanlal and Navya!
