It is a reverse migration of sorts. Even as the ‘invasion’ by Malayalam heroines of Tamil cinema continues unabated, a few Tamil actresses have hopped over to Malayalam silver screen to try their fortunes.
The Queen of smiles Sneha blazed the trail by deciding to chance her luck in Mollywood. And it was a dream start for her new innings: a film with the ruling monarch of Mollywood Mammootty !
Now, close on the heels of Sneha, another Tamil actress has also crossed the border. Her name: Sandhya of Kathal fame.
The Mollywood grapevine has it that Sandhya too has been signed up for a film in which the hero – you have guessed it right – is, again, Mammootty! The movie is titled ‘Prajapathi’.
It is not as if Sandhya is out on a limb in Kollywood. Far from that. As a matter of fact, she is in the ascendant with her latest flick, ‘Dishyum’ with Danush doing very well at the box office.
What has prompted the two lovely ladies to opt for a change of scene? Well, certainly not the money factor. May be, it has something to do with the professionalism of Malayalam filmmakers. Whatever it is, it is a new trend.
