Sreekumaran This is the most happening Vishu as far as Malayalam film industry is concerned. That way, Malayalam cinema will give a unique Vishu gift to millions of fans this year. Perhaps for the first time in the history of Malayalam cinema all the top stars have their films lined up for Vishu release. No wonder, it is billed as star wars of an unprecedented kind. 
First to be off the starting block as it were was Suresh Gopi with ‘Chintamani Kolacase’. The movie, in which Gopi is a criminal lawyer, has already set the box office alight. It must be a welcome relief for Suresh whose ‘Lanka’ failed to set the cash registers ringing! Then it was the turn of megastar Mohanlal ’s ‘Rasathanthram’, which came out on April 7. The film seems set to become a big hit with Mohanlal and director Sathyan Anthicad coming together after a 12-year gap. Meera Jasmine plays the female lead in the film. April 12 will see the release of the other megastar Mammootty ’s ‘Thuruppugulan’ in which his heroine is Sneha. Mammookka plays a card player in the film, which has been directed by Johnny Antony. And last but not the least is the Dileep -starrer ‘Pachakkuthira’, directed by Kamal. The film, which has Gopika playing the heroine will feature Dileep in a double role. So, all the super stars are in the fray with their respective films. Who will walk away with the top honours? Your guess is as good as mine. Till then, here is wishing you all a Happy Vishu!
