The Mammootty juggernaut continues to roll on in majestic fashion, dominating the Malayalam film firmament.
The Midas touch that the mega star acquired in 2005 continues to ensure a golden run for the most popular actor in Mollywood at present.
The latest Mammootty film to enjoy a spectacular box-office opening in Kerala is the IV Sasi-directed Balram Vs Tara Das .
Initial reports from important trade centres like Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam show that the film is on the way to becoming a super hit.
Incidentally, Sasi and Mammootty, who have given a number of hits in the past, have joined hands after a long time.
Meanwhile, Mammootty’s earlier release, the Johny Antony-directed ‘Thruppu Gulan’, too is enjoying a phenomenal run. In the film, Mammoos plays an ace card player with a golden heart.
The grapevine is abuzz that after the Kerala assembly elections, the popularity of Mammootty is likely to soar further. The reason : he is the chairman of the popular TV channel, ‘Kairali’, controlled by the Communist Party of India (Marxist). And the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) is set to wrest power in Kerala!
