It is a real bonanza for the film buffs in Kerala this time. As many as seven Malayalam films are lined up for Onam release this year.
Almost all the heroes - the Megastars included - are raring to join the Onam battle for the filmgoer's mind.
The first to go off the block will be the megastar Mammootty starrer, ‘Bhargavacharitram Moonam Khandam’. The masala entertainer, directed by Joe Mon, is slated for a September 1 release.
If Mammootty is there, can Mohanlal be far behind? His much-awaited ‘Mahasamudram’ in which Mohanlal plays a fisherman for the first time, will see the light of the day on September 1, too. So, in a way, it is a no-holds-barred megastar clash this Onam.
Young actor Dileep , fresh from the success of ‘Chess’, has ‘Don’ with Gopika playing the heroine. The director is Shaji Kailas. Incidentally it is the first time Shaji and Dileep are teaming up. ‘Don’ will come out on September 5 (Onam Day).
Action Hero Suresh Gopi is also raring to go. The flick, ‘Janmam’, directed by veteran Joshi, will also be released on September 5.
Jayaram , who is going through a lean patch, has ‘Aanachantham’ to show off for Onam. The film, directed by Jairaj, has Ramya Krishnan as Jayaram's love angle. It will have a September 1 release.
Handsome Prithviraj , who is doing extremely well in Tamil cinema, has an Onam release, too. The film, titled ‘Classmates’, has his brother Indrajeet and Kavya Madhavan as well. The director is Lal Jose.
