Sreekumaran Even when her colleagues made a beeline to the neighbouring Tamil film world, comely Kavya Madhavan stuck to the home ground: Malayalam cinema. So, Kavya enjoyed, for a long time, number one status in Mollywood, the grapevine buzzes. 
But of late, there are indications that her number one status is under threat. From whom? From another Malayali girl, who made her presence felt in Tamil films too. Her name: Gopika . If anything, Gops seems to have a slight edge as of now. The facts speak for themselves. For instance, Gopika has films with almost all the superstars. She figured in ‘Keertichakra’ with Mohanlal . Now, Gopika is Suresh Gopi 's heroine in the upcoming film ‘Janmam’. The icing on the cake for Gops is a movie with Mammootty titled ‘Pothenvava’. What more can you hope for? As against this, Kavya is in less august company. She is Dileep 's heroine in the Lohitadas-directed ‘Chakkarapottan’ which is slated for an Onam release. Another film in Ms Madhavan's kitty is ‘Vaasthavam’ which has young actor Prithviraj doing the lead role. In other words, the diminutive damsel has no films with the reigning super stars like Mammootty, Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi. No wonder, the grapevine is buzzing that Gopika is posing a real threat to Kavya's hitherto-unchallenged supremacy in Mollywood. Buck up, Kavya!
