The combatants are – you have made the right guess – megastars Mammootty and Mohanlal . Mammootty has had a headstart in that his film, ‘Pothen Vava’ saw the light of the day on Diwali day itself. 
Mohanlal's ‘Photographer’ is to be released on October 24. The grapevine is abuzz that sparks are bound to fly in the mega clash. In ‘Pothen Vava’, Mammootty and veteran director Joshi have come together after a few years. The duo has done a number of hit films together, among them. Whereas ‘Photographer’ is Ranjan Pramod's maiden directorial effort. Of course, Pramod is a successful scriptwriter, having penned the scripts of such films as ‘Meesha Madhavan’, ‘Naran’ and ‘Achuvinte Amma’. Who will emerge the winner in the no-holds-barred battle royal? Mollywood is waiting with bated breath.
