Mollywood is awash with the news that Malayalam mega star Mammootty has regained the Midas touch.
In the eagerly-awaited Diwali clash between the megastars of Malayalam cinema, Mammootty has emerged the clear winner.
The grapevine has it that his film, Pothen Vava , is doing extremely well at the box office.
In contrast, ‘Photographer’ featuring his mega star rival, Mohanlal , in the lead is having an indifferent run, according to trade circles. Needless to say, this has come as a setback for Mohanlal who rode high following the success of his Rasathantram and Thanmatra .
Mammootty badly needed a hit because some of his recent films had failed to impress the Malayali audience. Films like Prajapathy and Bhargavacharitam Moonnam Kaandam have flopped at the box office.
Fortunately for the megastar, Pothen Vava has clicked, managing to bring back the family audience to Mammootty movies.
Mollywood is awaiting the next clash between the megastars, this round having gone clearly in favour of Mammootty.
