It will be a special Onam for Malayalam cinema's action hero, Suresh Gopi this year.
An Onam to remember it will be because the handsome hero will have two releases against his name.
For a change, the two films belong to different genres, too. ‘Black Cat’ directed by Vinayan will have Suresh doing what he is best at: playing the gun-toting super cop. Black Cat, to be released on August 15 will take on Megastar Mohanlal 's ‘Ali Bhai’, scheduled for a release on the same day.
However, the buzz says the other film, ‘Kichamani MBA’ will feature Gopi in a rule tinged with humour. The movie is being directed by newcomer Samad Mankada. This will be Suresh's official Onam entry.
Besides, Gopi will also play ‘Raja Ravi Varma’, one of the best painters of Indian art. The movie will be directed by Lenin Rajendran. The grapevine has it that shooting will start in September.
It will be an entirely different role for Suresh, used to playing action-packed super cop, detective roles. It is a tough act, but Gopi can be expected to carry the burden on his broad shoulders.
