Mohanlal celebrates birthday with film unit

The talented actor was shooting for film ‘Alexander The Great’ at a hotel. Though he did not seem in a mood to celebrate – because his father-in-law passed away recently – the film’s unit decided to bring cheer to the actor by ordering a birthday cake, which the superstar cut on the sets.

Character artiste and a close friend of the superstar, Jagdeesh told a news agency: “I also act in the film and more importantly being a close friend of Lal, I am happy that I was with him. I wish that he goes on to achieve greater glory and also wish that I be with him when he celebrates his next birthday too.”

In a career that spans three decades, Mohanlal has worked in over 300 films and has won National Award four times. In 2001 he was also honoured with Padmashri by the government of India. In personal life, Mohanlal is an avid collector of paintings and antique items. He has a private art gallery at home.


Mohanlal is presently working in ‘Alexander The Great’ and the Telugu and Tamil remakes of the Hindi thriller A Wednesday .
