What is good for real life is okay for life on reel too. Popular Malayalam actress Meera Jasmine seems to think that it's time to introduce a bit of variety in her film career. 
That alone explains the Jasmine girl's decision to do an item number for her forthcoming Tamil movie to be directed by Cheran. Of course, Ms Jasmine will play the lead role as well in the film, which will have Cheran himself playing the hero. Of course, Meera is now in a position to do offbeat roles as she is doing very well in her career. She has won the prestigious National Award for Best Actress for her rivetting performance in TV Chandran's "Paadam Onnu Oru Vilapam". Then came an equally demanding role in the Kamal-directed :Perumazhakkalam". She did it in great style, too, earning rave reviews. Meera is busy in Telugu and Kannada film worlds as well. Her debut film in Kannada "Maurya" went down well with the Kannada audience. What more can an actress aspire for? It would be no exaggeration to say that the film world is at her feet, literally! So, she can afford to indulge in the luxury of doing offbeat roles at this point of her career.
