Will Ash say 'no' to Rajnikant a third time?

Super director Shankar of Anniyan fame is trying to rope in Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai for Tamil superstar Rajnikant 's next film.

Incidentally, Ash had said ‘No’ to Rajni's offer to act in his earlier movie Baba . Ultimately Rajni opted for another Bollywood heroine Manisha Koirala .

Aishwarya was again sounded for the female lead role in Chandramukhi . Again the former Miss World could not make it. The lucky actress was Jyothika .

Shankar is said to have initiated moves to get Rai's consent for the latest Rajni starrer.

The move reportedly has the Tamil superstar's nod of approval.

Shankar has good rapport with Ash as the latter was the heroine in ‘Jeans’, which was directed by him.

The million-dollar question is: Will Ash say ‘No’ to
Rajni for the third time? The answer to the question is in the womb of time.

Insiders, however, say, Ash may say yes this time around for two reasons. First, she is not all that busy in Bollywood. Secondly, with Chandramukhi's fabulous success, Rajnikant has reached the pinnacle of fame not only in Kollywood but also in Indian cinema. Rajni is now the highest paid star in India. His salary for Chandramukhi was Rs 15 crore!

If Ash says yes, it will be billed as the casting coup of the year, says the buzz from Kollywood.

The hottest tidbit from Kollywood is that Shankar and
Rajni have joined hands to make a film called
Sivaji. Remember, Rajni's real name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. The film, being produced by AVM, will be a Rs 50-crore extravaganza. Incidentally, it will be
Rajni's ninth film for AVM banner.
