Tamil actor Vikram really has an eye for the unusual, much in the manner of his self-confessed mentor, superstar Kamal Haasan .
Just go through his track record, and you would see that Vikram delights in doing demanding roles – ‘Kashi’, ‘Sethu’, ‘Pithamagan’ ( which won him the national award for best actor) and Anniyan .
So, the latest news about Vikram is that he will play the role of a transvestite, having bought the rights to remake in Tamil Malayalam film ‘Chaanthupottu’ in which Dileep plays a man brought up as a girl. The film has become a hit, especially with the female audience.
Needless to say, Vikky boy sees a winner in ‘Chaanthupottu’. After all, all the Tamil remakes of Malayalam films which he has done so far have been winners.
Among the successful Tamil versions of the Malayalam movies which he has done are ‘Kashi’ (remake of ‘Vasanthiyum, Lakshmiyum Pinne Nanum), ‘Maja’ (remake of Mammootty -starrer ‘Thommanum Makkalum’) and now ‘Chaanthupottu’.
Another national award winning performance in the making? Let us see.
Meanwhile, here is wishing you all the best, Vikram!
