The star stunner has just snapped up the role of her life: a film with the redoubtable Rajnikant ! But there is a flip side to the Shriya success story. Even as Shri is soaking in the feel good factor, a young actor is sulking in silence. 
The hero is none other than Rajni's son-in-law Dhanush, who is struggling to stay afloat in the cutthroat world of Tamil cinema. Well, the story is that before Shriya bagged the mother of all roles, she had signed up for a film with Dhanush. Shooting of the film, ‘Thiruvilayadal’, had also started. A few scenes had even been canned. Then came the smile of dame luck on Shriya. Well, the big break put her in a real dilemma. Working simultaneously with Rajni and Dhanush was out of the question. So she had to take the decision. And she took it. And the loser has been the son-in-law, whose career is hanging in the balance. Poor Dhanush! The struggling young man has no option but to digest the bitter pill. He simply could not have gone against his father-in-law's clout. In today's Kollywood Rajni is the reigning god while Dhanush is still down in the dumps, career wise. The question being asked in Kodambakkam studios these days is this : will Rajni do something to pull Dhanush's chestnuts out of fire ? The answer is in the womb of future. Meanwhile, distraught Dhanush must get on with life. Hard luck, young man. But keep your chin up. Your time will come.
