Sreekumaran There is some relief at last for beleaguered Tamil actress Khushboo who is in the eye of a storm over her remarks on pre-marital sex. The former reigning queen of Kollywood has already secured some legal redress by way of stays in four cases filed against her. 
Now comes the news that Nadigar Sangham general secretary has expressed support to Khushboo. Reports have it that the Nadigar Sangham will take up the issue with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and the Union Information & Broadcasting Minister soon. There is also news that the Tamil Nadu Government is contemplating action against those who showered Khushboo with rotten eggs, tomatoes and chappals when she appeared in the Mettur court. The reports add that it will be easy to identify the 'culprits' as police have videotaped the whole incident. However, there is no respite for Suhasini Maniratnam, who defended Khushboo. This week saw three more defamation cases being registered against the beleaguered actress. Meanwhile, Kollywood is awash with reports that a much-harried Suhasini, niece of Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan , has left for US, obviously to escape from the heat and controversy the entire episode has generated.
