The latest news from Kollywood is that talented Bollywood actress Tabu will be acting in a Tamil film after a long gap.
The last film that Tabu did in Kollywood was ‘Kandukondein, Kandukondein’. Then came a big gap as the lanky heroine got busy in Bollywood and elsewhere.
The grapevine is abuzz that Tabu has been signed up for a Tamil film titled ‘Silanthi’ (Spider).
The film, which will be directed by Gowtham Menon (Kakka Kakka, Minnale fame) will have Sarath Kumar playing the male lead.
In between there was talk that Simran would do the role that Tabu has snapped up. As Simran said ‘No’, director Menon reportedly approached Malayalam actress Shobhana . But Shobana, busy with her dance recitals these days, could not make it either.
That is when Tabu was approached, and the heroine is reported to have given her consent for doing the film.
Incidentally, Tabu had also figured in Viraasat , the Hindi version of the Tamil flick ‘Thevar Magan’.
