And now it is the turn of star couple Sarath Kumar and Radhika . They all had a common destination: the AIADMK bandwagon. Could not make head or tail of it? Well, the thing is it is election time in the film-crazy Tamil Nadu. And the stars a-twinkle on the silver screen are shining on the political landscape, too. And they are changing allegiances in the twinkling of an eye! 
The beneficiary of these star treks has of course been Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, herself an accomplished actress of yesteryears. Tamil actor Sarath and his actress wife Radhika, once ardent supporters of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam headed by former chief minister M Karunanidhi, have executed an astonishing u-turn by joining Jayalalithaa’s party. The reason for the break with the DMK: Well, Sarath says he was finding it difficult to endure the humiliation being meted out to him day in and day out. Of course, Sarath was with the AIADMK way back in the nineties. Then, he switched allegiance to the DMK and went on to become an MP as well. Then came disillusionment. And like Simran, the star couple too joined the Jaya juggernaut. Of course, it remains to be seen whether these star nakhras will spice up the political battle in the state.
