Sreekumaran Erstwhile reigning queen of Tamil cinema Khushboo and controversy are made for each other. Or so it seems! Well, as you all know, not much time has elapsed since the storm that broke out over Khushboo's controversial remarks on pre-marital sex blew over. Khushboo literally had a harrowing time, with a slew of cases slapped against her. The whole experience took a heavy toll on the actress and convulsed Kollywood. 
If you thought the troubles of Khushboo are over, you are mistaken. A fresh controversy has erupted. Well the story, in a nutshell, is this : Khushboo had been signed up by director Gnanashekhar to play Maniammai, wife of late EV Ramaswamy Naicker, popularly known as Periyar. Khushboo got the role after Sneha failed to find the time to do the film. Now, the activists of Dravida Kazhagam, formed by Periyar, have vehemently objected to Khushboo doing the role of Maniammai. The controversy has put the director on the horns of an acute dilemma. Will he dump Khushboo and opt for some other actress to play the role? That is the million-dollar question uppermost in the minds of Tamil filmgoers.
