His name: Saravanan alias Surya . The son of actor of yesteryears Sivakumar, Surya is considered Number 5 in the Tamil cinema behind Rajnikant , Vijay , Vikram and Kamal Haasan . 
The shy and reticent young man attracted attention with Bala's ‘Nanda’. Gautam Menon's ‘Kakka Kakka’ put him firmly in the limelight. Then came ‘Pitamagan’, again directed by Bala. Though it was Vikram who won the national award for best actor, Surya's role also earned him critical acclaim. But it was Ghajini directed by AR Murugadoss that pitchforked him into the top five club. His latest movie ‘Jillenru Oru Kadhal’ is slated for release on August 18. He has girlfriend Jyothika as heroine in the film. Two more films to be directed by Vishnuvardhan and Gautam Menon are in the pipeline. So, the sun is well and truly shining on the reel life of superstar Surya.
