With barely four days remaining for the big day, the Rajnikant mania is at its zenith not only in cinema-crazy Kollywood but also in the United States of America!
Reports from the US say there is unprecedented rush for tickets of Sivaji being screened in major US cities like Virginia, New Jersey, Minneapolis, etc. So much so, some cities in US are planning to have a premier show on June 14, a day before the official release of the mega movie.
No other Tamil film – be it Chandramukhi , Anniyan , Ghajini , Vettayadu Vilayadu -- has attracted the kind of mania that has preceded the ‘Sivaji’ release in US. A similar craze is being witnessed in Japan, where Rajnikant is immensely popular, too, according to reports.
The superstar himself quietly returned to Chennai on Thursday after a sojourn to the Himalayas for spiritual solace. In a way, he has kept his promise to be back in time for the release of ‘Sivaji’.
Rajni normally undertakes this spiritual yatra every time he completes shooting for his film.
The grapevine has it that the superstar, who saw a special show of the film at the AVM studio, is said to be highly impressed with the end product.
Meanwhile, reports say that tickets for ‘Sivaji’ have been sold out for the first week in as many as 19 theatres in Tamil Nadu.
