Tamil superstar Rajnikant has again touched off speculation with his latest remark in Andhra Pradesh.
Rajni, who was in Andhra to attend the marriage of the son of his assistant, Murali, said he would consider entering politics after two years.
A significant straw in the wind has been the collection of the names, addresses and telephone numbers of Rajni's fans all over the state. The move to prepare a database of the fans is a giveaway of the super star's intention to plunge into politics, says the Kollywood grapevine.
Incidentally, Rajni would be 60 by that time. May be his decision to take to politics would be his gift to the fans on his 60th birthday.
The super star had made a punchline in his superhit ‘Muthu’ way back in 1985. The line was "I do not know when and how I would come. But I will definitely come at the right time.”
The Year 2010 could well turn out to be the right time.
