The birthday of mega star Chiranjeevi is the mother of all events in Tollywood. This year also, Chiru's 52nd birthday was a glittering and star-studded affair.
A galaxy of stars called on the living legend of Telugu cinema at his residence in Jubilee Hill on August 22 to convey their greetings.
The day also marked the release of the audio of Chiru's forthcoming film, ‘Stalin’. Pawan Kalyan launched the audio at the Lalithakala Vedika in Hyderabad. Thousands of cheering fans were witness to the launch.
‘Stalin’, directed by AR Murugadoss (of Tamil film Ghajini fame) is based on the Kargil war - a tribute to the Army jawans. The film has Trisha in the female lead.
Both the electronic media and newspapers went gaga over Chiranjeevi's birthday, says the grapevine.
The year 2006 has been extremely good for the Telugu mega star. His daughter Sushmita got married this year. Chiranjeevi was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006. The year will also see the cinematic debut of his son, Ram Charan Teja.
The buzz is that after completing Stalin, Chiru may act in a film to be directed by Tamil director P. Vasu. Incidentally, Vasu directed Tamil superstar Rajnikant in Chandramukhi , the all-time biggest grosser in Kollywood.
Chiranjeevi Sir, wish you a long and glorious innings on the silver screen!
