Fashion designer Ritu Beri is making her mark on the international scene. A few days ago her collection was showcased and well appreciated in Paris. Now the Beri girl is all set to design a special outfit for Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
Nicole is believed to have commissioned Ritu to design a dress for the premiere of her forthcoming Baz Lahrmann-directed film "Moulin Rouge" at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
According to the buzz, Nicole opted for Beri though leading fashion houses of Paris, Milan and London were vying to offer the svelte actress a haute couture dress, free, for the occasion.
Says Beri about the recent craze for Indian clothes in the west: " I think women in the west like our clothes because they can make a definite and dramatic statement through it".
True, of late Indian fashion designers have become hot favorites among international stars. Just a few days back Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson asked Rohit Bal to design her an "exotic sari". Besides, dame Judi Dench has often worn Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla outfits on several occasions. And it was just about time someone got impressed by Ritu's talent too.
