Ace fashion designer Ritu Beri is all set to showcase her latest collection as the chief designer for renowned Jean Louise Scherrer label at the coming Paris Fashion Week.
Ritu concedes that while she is designing for a foreign label, she drew inspiration from an ancient Indian technique known as Wali.
Ritu’s pret-a-porter (ready to wear) collection is full of hip apparels that are sprinkled with colors such as denim blue, aquamarine and beige. Ritu calls her collection as the “mix of the refined and the savage”.
As the leading Indian fashion designer who keeps trotting between Delhi and Paris, Ritu feels that there is growing demand in the west for the designs that reflect Indian sensibility.
For her forthcoming collection, Ritu executed most of the work in India and worked out the design details in Paris.
