‘Depressed’ Gladrags Mega Model winner commits suicide

Rakhee Choudhari, the 23-year-old winner of 2002 Gladrags Mega Model winner, is alleged to have committed suicide at her Oshiwara residence in Krishna Kaveri Apartment, in Andheri.
Rakhee reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself by a nylon rope from the ceiling fan of her room.
One investigating official is reported to have said that Rakhee was suffering from depression since last few months due to thyroid problem. She was also gaining weight.
Rakhee was cremated on Sunday after her parents came from Bangalore.
Police officials are speculating that Rakhee might have took this desperate step last week on Wednesday or Thursday as her body was decomposed.
The incident, however, came to light on Saturday when Rakhee’s sister and brother-in-law flew down from America to see her and got the door opened by a locksmith after the model did not reply the door bell for long.
Rakhee had won the Gladrags Model Contest in 2002, after which she represented India in the Miss Intercontinental Contest in September this year in Germany. She came fourth in the contest.
