Supermodel Naomi Campbell and designer Donatella Versace are expected to attend this year’s India Fashion Week in April.
According to IANS, Naomi and Donatella would be attending the show of a young Indian designer at the country’s biggest ever fashion extravaganza to be held between April 20 and 26 in New Delhi.
The designer will be selected through a reality show by fashion week title sponsor Lakme and would win an internship with Versace.
The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) on Thursday announced the names of participating designers. This year’s fashion week promises to be the biggest ever held in India. The number of participants has been increased to 61 (from 57 last year), fashion shows up to 39 (from 35), stalls growing to 70 (from 60) and the number of buyers is also likely to go up from last year’s 200.
Among the established names participating in the event will be Ritu Kumar , Tarun Tahiliani , Suneet Varma , Raghavendra Rathore and veterans Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla.
The grand finale on April 26 will have shows by Mumbai-based Monisha Jaising and Delhi’s Varun Bahl.
