Indian fashion designer Ritu Beri will show her Autumn/Winter 2006 couture collection at the Paris Fashion Week.
Following her marriage to Delhi-based industrialist Bobby Chaddha last year, Ritu has been busy traveling, writing her book on fashion, and lapping up plum assignments in between (like designing Katie Holmes’ dress).
She returned from the Russia Fashion Week recently and now she is off to show her latest couture collection at Paris Fashion week on July 7.
However, Ritu’s show in Paris will not be a regular one. Models in her creations will be part of the audience. Ritu jokingly calls it “stiff catwalk”.
Her new collection includes feminine dresses – skirts, blouses and denims. The dresses are complemented by fashion accessories like bejewelled bags and shoes with metallic heels.
Ritu says she has a natural liking for couture than pręt because couture provides her the range to experiment. One of Ritu’s future assignments includes designing dresses for a Hollywood movie.
