Delhi Fashion Week promises fashion fiesta!

Set to be another fashion extravaganza, Delhi Fashion Week will have some of the biggies of Indian Fashion Industry showing their collections. But designers like Anamika Khanna and Raghuvendra Rathore have decided not to participate. Other designers like Rajavi Mohan, Gaurav Gupta and Varun Sardana have plans to showcase at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) that is starting on March 18 and will run till 23rd.

According to Sumeet Nair, head of DFW, it was up to the designers whether they want to come up with their collection or not. However, names like Meera and Muzaffar Ali, Rohit Bal , Tarun Tahiliani and Malini Ramani will showcase their designs at DFW. And young creative designers like Alpana and Neeraj, Vineet Behl are ready to lure the buyers and fashion gurus at the gala event to be held at Emporio from March 19th to 24th.


Budding designers like Ekta Singh, Khushali Kumar, Surabhi Chawla, Sandeep and Gaurav are getting chance to participate in DFW for the first time. Others who will participate are Hemant Sagar of Lecoanet Hemant, Abhi & Parul, Rahul Reddy, Abhijeet Khanna, Atsu Sekhose, Preeti Chandra, Gunit Kaur, Amber Firoze and Savio Jon.

Accessory designers like Alecca Carrano, Amrita Hans, Meera Mahadevia, Nivedita Swarup, Yasmine Rana and Vanilla Moon will also get a chance to show their designed accessories.

Rohit Bal, who is ready for DFW, said: “The reason that I'm showing here is because I find DFW extremely progressive and the production quality of the event is comparable to any international fashion week.”

He also added, “There is little room for any internal disputes since it is a collection of like-minded creative designers with the sole purpose of putting together a great event and move forward and concentrate on the business of fashion.”

Vineet Bahl, who is showing his chic and easy glamorous line this time, says, “Delhi Fashion Week is a very fair platform which believes in giving equal opportunity to established and young designers like me.”

International stylists along with Jan Malan and his team of show producers from South Africa are responsible for the show that will try to strengthen long term business relationships between buyer and designers and market it well through media to enable aspirant designers to come up with their best.

Well, with the greater number of designers participating, this year’s DFW is expected to be a week-long fashion fiesta.
