I love the sari: Naomi Campbell

The British supermodel walked the Indian ramp for the first time and looked absolutely gorgeous draped in the six-yard-long apparel designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee . However, it wasn’t the first time Naomi wore a sari.

“I just love the Sari. I think it’s elegant. I've worn it for a music video before...It's just that every time that I've been to India, I've always liked to wear the traditional authentic clothes," Campbell told reporters in Mumbai.


The supermodel added that Indian designers have impacted the global fashion.

“There are so many (favourite Indian designers). There's so much influence on the Western world of your Indian designs,” Campbell told the reporters.

Campbell’s visit to India is for philanthropic reasons. She is part of ‘Mai Mumbai’ initiative led by good friend and hotelier Vikram Chatwal at LFW. Through the auctioning of clothes at the show, Campbell and Chatwal hope to raise money for improving the emergency medical services of Mumbai.

“A lot of lives were lost in Mumbai's terror attacks due to lack of ambulances,” Campbell said on a somber note.
