Reports have it that Bollywood’s badman Gulshan Grover has signed for an important role in Hollywood director Roger Christian’s upcoming film.
The movie titled ‘The Prisoners of the Sun’ will have Grover playing an Indian archeologist who understands the language of mystical symbols and signs. The actor compares his role to that of Tom Hanks’ in the Hollywood blockbuster The Da Vinci Code .
Grover’s character in the movie is called Rohit Singh, a good-natured professor who has his confrontations with the hero but eventually sacrifices his own life to save him.
John Rhys Davies plays the lead role while Carmen Chaplin (Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter) is the movie’s heroine.
The film’s shooting has already begun in Morocco.
Filmmaker Roger Christian began his career as a set designer for ‘Star Wars’ (1977) and art director for ‘Aliens’ (1979). He subsequently tested the waters as a writer before graduating to direction. However, his movies like ‘The Sender’ (1982), ‘Underworld’ (1996) and ‘Battlefield Earth’ did not do well at the box-office.
