Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard are set to unite once again for the prequel to the smash hit movie The Da Vinci Code .
The movie, released last year, turned out to be a box office winner with estimated worldwide earnings of $758 million despite being panned by critics. Based on Dan Brown’s book of the same title, ‘The Da Vinci Code’ starred Tom Hanks and French actress Audrey Tautau.
Now, reports from Hollywood have it that Hanks and Howard are in close negotiations to team up once more for the prequel to the movie, titled ‘Angels And Demons’, again based on a Dan Brown novel.
The prequel will have the symbologist Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) as the protagonist who battles the illuminati and the Vatican.
According to reports, the prequel is being written by Akiva Goldsman, who is adapting the film from Brown's book.
Reports also have it that A-list casting directors Jane Jenkins and Debbie McWilliams have been hired to fill out the thriller's supporting roles.
The shooting of ‘Angels and Demons’ might begin in January next year.
