The wait for next Harry Potter movie gets longer

The sixth in the line of Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince”, was scheduled to release on November 21, but now it will entertain kids in their vacation time that is summer of next year.

The distributors Warner Bros said that the delay is not because of any production snags but they want to cash on to the summer season. The decision seems to have been taken after the success of their last Harry Potter film which released in the same season last year.

Meanwhile, November will see some big releases like ‘Australia’ starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, a James Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ and ‘Transporter 3’.

The delay of ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ has made speculations rife. Jeff Robinov, President of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, confirmed the delay and the new release date, that is July 17, 2009. On the other hand, fans are filling the blogs out of disappointment. The switch will mean a two-year gap between the last released Harry Potter flick based on the fifth book. Well, according to Warner Bros. the other two in the pipeline, based on book 7 and 8, are already planned to come by November 2010 and summer of 2011. So, that means the lovers and fans of Harry Potter series don’t have to wait much for the series to conclude.

The director of ‘The Half-Blood Prince’ is David Yates, who has directed the fifth version and is also directing the final two. Harry in this movie is after the dark secrets about the early years of his arch-enemy and he is worried about the dangers inside the castle as Voldemort is more powerful this time, leaving Hogwarts unsafe. Star cast has no changes with Rupert and Emma sharing the screen space with Dan and the new cast, including David Bradley and Jesse Cave, is prolific.

The makers want to take advantage of summer vacation as the season proved fruitful for them with ‘The Dark Knight’ released this July and their last Harry Potter film created ripples in the theatres on summer of 2007.

As a matter of fact, we can say, we are waiting!!
