Dev Patel, Danny Boyle to play 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'

More than destiny, it's good will and noble intention at work here. Dev and Danny are learnt to be in talks to appear on the ITV1 gameshow in a bid to raise money for street children.

Moreover, to literally recreate the story of 'Slumdog', the producers of the show may even have Indian actress Frieda Pinto as 'phone a friend'.


Patel has reportedly collaborated with a UK-based children's charity Railway Children that is negotiating for Dev and Danny to appear on a celebrity version of the quiz show hosted by Chris Tarrant.

A spokeswoman for 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' producers Celador confirmed the news, saying, "We were approached by Railway Children about doing the special, and we think it would be fantastic...Danny and Dev would play together, as with all our celebrity specials, but filming depends on their availability."

In the multiple Oscar winning film Dev Patel plays a slumkid who goes on to win Rs. 20 million on the Indian version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'.

Now, it remains to be seen how much Patel and Boyle are destined to win in real life.
