Shiney Ahuja goes to Hollywood

He has no star status like Aishwarya Rai , nor has he shown a caliber like that of Irrfan Khan . But he has a simmering intensity and screen presence enough to land a role in a Hollywood film.

Shiney’s performances in his films Gangster and ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ have apparently helped him to clinch a role in his first Hollywood film titled ‘Silver Cord’. James Ordonez, who is directing the film, reportedly saw him in ‘Gangster’ and liked him immensely.


‘Silver Cord’ is a romantic sci-fi thriller to be produced by Michael Shane, Anthony Romano of ‘Catch Me If You Can’ fame, and Mark Canton from the movie ‘300’. As for now, Shiney is not revealing anything about his dream project; he is only saying that he will share screen space with Val Kilmer (the star of films like ‘The Doors’ and ‘The Saint’).

Amazingly, in ‘Silver Cord’, Shiney will play a character who is an American instead of Asian. This reminds us of Shiney’s initial struggling days when producers in Mumbai were not interested in signing him just because he was too fair and has green eyes.

Shiney has played brooding roles in almost all his films and in this movie, too, he will essay an intense character. The film is set to roll by the year end.
