Shah Rukh Khan , the lead actor of Ashutosh Gowarikar ’s film Swades, says that the film is a call to the Indians abroad to trace their roots and make a difference in developing the lives of people in rural India.
Speaking at a press conference held a few days back, SRK said that Swades is a wakeup call to the Desis abroad, to just give it a thought and to realize the abundant need for those brilliant brains that drained towards the west, for the sake of making richer lives.
Given below are the excerpts from what Shahrukh said at the conference:
“Swades is an intelligent piece of art. It's about the expectations of present middle-class youth and middle-aged people who are intelligent, educated and traveled to the west to make better lifestyle and live rich.
“I am sure the movie will certainly evoke an awareness among these citizens to realize the importance of how much the country that gave an identity to them is waiting to welcome them back to make it prosper much more than it is now today,” SRK said.
He added: “It's neither the hard and fast rule nor an order to fellow Indians to do so, but if they all can understand the fact that besides sharing the knowledge and skills they acquired among the world community, it's also important to share the same and utilize it for our home country.”
