For a long time he was tagged as a lambi race ka ghoda. Some critics even made fun of him when they asked when will his race start. But things have now changed for Abhishek Bachchan .
Things changed when the junior Bachchan was signed by Mani Ratnam for Yuva . Abhishek’s power packed performance was not only appreciated by the critics, it also won him the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award.
But modesty seems to run in his blood, for just like his father Amitabh Bachchan , Abhishek never himself calls his own performance over the top.
In an interview to a leading website, Abhishek said that it feels wonderful to be recognised, but at the same time he refuses to believe that his performance in Yuva was better than others actors, who were nominated for the same award.
Interestingly, Abhishek was in competition for the award with his father, who was nominated for Veer Zaara .
The junior Bachchan says that when he his dad’s name in the nominations, he knew he deserved it. Besides being his son, Abhishek said he is also his biggest fan and thought that the award was rightfully his.
Abhishek adds that he took the Big B on stage because he thought that was the right thing to do. More than being happy to win the award, he was happy that his mom and dad were there with him to share that moment.
