In her fourteen years in the film industry, Shilpa Shetty has known Salman Khan as a good friend.
A day before the release of the much-delayed Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar, Shilpa spoke about the movie and her co-star Salman in a press conference in Mumbai.
"We got to know each other about 14 years ago during a show and the meeting started a good friendship which has lasted even today. Salman is a true friend. If you irk him, he will react. It is a natural tendency," Shilpa said.
About the movie, Shilpa said the film was a comic way to portray that marriages are not easy but could be worked out.
"I firmly believe in the institution of marriage. I have seen my parents happily married for so many years," she said.
In SKPGY, Shilpa plays a rich model who marries an upper-middle class guy, played by Salman. As soon as the euphoria of their marriage abates, cultural and ideological differences start showing between them. The husband and wife begin arguing and fighting over small, trivial matters.
Shilpa will next be seen in Anurag Basu’s film Metro and Sunny Deol’s Apne . In ‘Metro’ she plays a Mumbaiite. In ‘Apne’ she plays a Punjabi girl from Chandigarh.
