I get infatuated very easily: Barbara Mori

A good looking girl who used to wait tables in a restaurant was spotted by a fashion designer and introduced to the world of modeling. Barbara’s journey into showbiz began in her teenage and she’s had her share to relationships since then.

She fell in love with actor Sergio Mayer when she was 19 and went on to have a love child with him. She and Mayer never married. After breaking with Mayer, Barbara dated Manolo Cardona but that relationship too did not last long. Then she fell for Mexican actor Jose Maria Torre from whom she broke up just before she began shooting for Kites with Hrithik Roshan . But this time she kept her emotions in check.


Speaking on the good number of relationships she’s had, Barbara made a candid confession to a magazine recently.

“I get very easily infatuated; I always fall in love and then I cannot be alone... but I am trying not to fall in love this time. I am learning to be with myself,” Barbara told OK! India magazine.

She added that she was coming out of a broken relationship when ‘Kites’ was offered to her.

“The truth is that ‘Kites’ came to me at the perfect time, since I was ending a relationship... I was taking a spiritual break to get to know myself better... to answer the question I am finishing a cycle, what happens next?” she is quoted to have said.

Contrary to her steamy image, Barbara gets rather nervous stripping down when there are many people around.

“When I do scenes where I'm wearing very little, kissing or making love, it is always difficult for me... perhaps, it is about being naked in front of so many people... in this case (while shooting Kites) there were very few people on the set and with regard to the discomfort which I feel while doing scenes of this nature... well, it was all very gracefully done,” she said.

‘Kites’ is a sensuous love story between an Indian guy and a Mexican woman, played by Hrithik and Barbara respectively. The film is directed by Anurag Basu .
