I'm left with few friends in the industry: Salman

Salman is set to show his dum on small screen again. The first season of his ‘Dus Ka Dum’ was a success mainly because the viewers loved Salman’s spontaneity, his natural charm and the way he bonded with his fans. The actor says the second season of the show would be better.

“I am my usual self on the show. I interact with the audience just like I talk with my fans. Just because you saw it on television, it looked very novel,” Salman told reporters at the show’s launch on Thursday.


The actor was in a good mood and showed his sense of humour while answering questions. When asked why he wasn’t using his influence to rope in celebrities for this season of the show, he said: “The reason why Sony is taking care of the celebrities is that I have been left with a few friends in the industry. There are a few left and I will try to get them on the show.”

When questioned if he had refused to rope in celeb guests because he was getting paid less this year than the last, Salman replied: “I was given big money in the first season. But, now it is recession time. The reduction in my fees for the second stint is not as much as it is being reported.”

The actor also did not spare the media and blamed it for spreading false stories, particularly about him “harassing” the channel because he was being paid less.

“Celebrities are always in a catch-22 situation. You keep writing false stories and when there is no reaction, the falsehood continues. If you (celebs) react, more will be written,” Salman remarked.

The actor has gotten busy with promoting the programme right after his return from a film shoot in London. The second season of ‘Dus Ka Dum’ is set to kick off from next week.
