Gulzar spins romantic yarn in audio-film

Noted poet, lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar is well known for his knack to do things out of the ordinary. This time the man has come forth with a film devoid of images.

Come September 22, Sony Music will launch the first-ever audio film titled 'Sunset Point'. Some reputed names of the music industry have joined hands to culminate this unusual concept.

'Sunset Point', conceived by Gulzar, is the romantic tale of two lovers who--like myriad other love stories-- are forced to part ways under certain circumstances, but reunite later only to find their love for each other stronger than ever.

Gulzar's thought provoking narrative, rendered by him in his rich baritone, literally paints the images on a listener's mind, while Vishal's soulful music kindles the emotions. And interspersed in between are eight tracks sung by Bhupinder and Chitra that make for an evocative, heart rending musical score.

Particularly ecstatic about the project is singer Bhupinder who opines: "The Poetry in the album is so beautiful and vivid that it instantly triggers off a string of images in one's mind". What's more, Gulzar himself has directed a video (starring Sanjay Suri and Chitrangada) of one of the songs from the album.
