After two successful albums, Sonu Nigam is again talk of the town with his latest offering "Yaad".
The album, to be released on Feb 4 under the T-Series label has the chocolate boy Sonu exploring newer vistas with his incorporation of the different style of music that blends the elements of Pop with Rock.
The album still remains a bit mushy (like many of his previous works) with the themes like romance or separation forming the crux of many songs. This apart, Sonu's vocal range seems to have broadened and the singer inflects and intones from one scale to another with the ease seen only in veterans.
"Yaad" is an undercurrent of love and passion and I have seen to it that it turns out well," says he.
In fact a video ("Jeena Tere Liye") from the album, featuring the Bengali beauty Riya Sen is already doing regular rounds on the music channels. Directed by Anubhav Sinha the video shows Sonu (sporting a hep hair style) clad as a rocker and dabbling with an electric guitar.
Looking back Sonu Nigam has come a long way from the adorable host of the TV show Sa-Re-Ga-Ma to an independent pop singer. His rags to riches story began when years ago he came to Mumbai to be a part of the entertainment industry. For long he scuffed his heels before he finally got the much-needed break to cut an album of his own with T-Series. It was a beginning but damp one, for it was not until his fourth album "Deewana" and the following one "Jaan" that the young singer made waves in the Indipop.
Presently on the verge of foraying into the tinsel world, Sonu is all gung-ho about having another feather in his cap.
