American guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani could infuse a little bit of Indian mysticism in his future albums meeting a long-felt wish of his Asian audiences.

The star guitarist, currently in Kolkata as part of his first ever tour of India, said he could pick up strains from the 'Indian kind of music' during his stint here and make the best use of it in tracks to come.

"Yes, the Indian influence could come into my music because I am very perceptive. You might end up listening to some very Indian kind of music from me," Satriani, called the God of Guitar, said ahead of his second concert in India after Mumbai.

The maestro said he was very fond of the music of sitarist Pandit Ravi Shankar, and the Asian group 'Medieval Pundits'.

One of the most technically accomplished rock guitar players of recent times, Satriani is on a three-city tour of India that began in Mumbai and will take him to Bangalore after Kolkata.

"Mumbai was a wonderful experience with a crowd of over 10,000. The audience was rocking just like any place else," the 49-year-old, who is credited with creating his own line of guitars -- the JS Joe Satriani model -- for the Ibanez company, said.

Satriani, who was inspired by guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, to drop the drums at age 14 and pick up the strings, said despite offers from heavy metal pioneers 'Deep Purple' to become a full-time member, he had turned down the offer for his solo career.

Satriani had filled in for departed Ritchie Blackmore of 'Deep Purple' during a 1994 tour.

Credited with ripple-making albums like 'Not of this Earth', 'Surfing With the Alien', 'The Extremist', 'Crystal Planet', 'Engines of Creation' and 'Strange Beautiful Music', Satriani has also dabbled in vocals in his hit 'Flying in a Blue Dream'.

In addition to his own albums, the Grammy nominee has made guest appearances on several other artists' albums over the years including Blue Oyster 'Cult's Imaginos', Alice Cooper's 'Hey Stoopid', Stuart Hamm's 'Radio Free Albemuth', Pat Matrino's 'All Sides Now' and Spinal Tap's 'Break Like the Wind'.

Satriani said he would take his genre a step ahead with his next album 'Is There Love in Space'.
